ACADEMIC ETHOS

The EuroSchool’s academic ethos focuses on encouraging the students to utilise their talents and develope their intellectual and creative interests so that they remain interesting and interested young men or women for the rest of their professional and personal lives.

Students at EuroSchool are expected to be independent thinkers, develop first class critical reading, writing and analytical skills, learn to understand the value of research across all areas of the balanced curriculum and be self-motivated and self-driven through a genuine love for the subject and not only by intrinsic rewards.

EuroSchool prepares students for the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) examination.

Grades 1 to 5 have an independent and integrated programme drawing on the best elements of the National (ICSE) and International (Cambridge International Primary Programme) curriculum.

In Secondary school (Grade 6 to 10), students pursue with ICSE. Class 8 serves as a foundation and preparatory programme for the ICSE curriculum for which the students opt in grade 9 and 10.

ICSE PROGRAMME

The ICSE (Indian Council of Secondary Education) programme is offered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. At PES, the curriculum is delivered to lead the students in a progressive and phased manner, enabling them to be well-prepared and future-ready. Application of knowledge and the development of analytical skills form integral parts of the programme that aims to develop students as responsible citizens who make positive contributions to the society.

Grade 9 and 10 sudents study English as the First Language, Kannada as the Second Language, and Mathematics, History, Civics and Geography, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Environmental Science and Computer Application or Physical education as core subjects.

School trips and excursions enable children to expand their understanding of the world from academic and cultural perspectives. They participate in Dance, Drama, Fine Arts, Yoga, and other activities. They organise and participate in Inter-house cultural and sports events, thus developing leadership skills and team spirit. Community Service is an integral part of the learning, with students actively involved in various service projects.
